Prepare yourself for a journey like no other you’ve taken! 🙂 It’s a magical journey for children and parents altogether I invite you with the innocent joy of a child, who fell in love with reading at a young age while reading Jules Verne and Mark Twain, to the upcoming musical Invizibilii, premiering 9 November 2025 at Sala Palatului in Bucharest.

Some of the Romanian parents reading this post may be a little bit confused as the story has been put on stage before, yet the premiere I invite to attend on 9th of November is a show taken to another level. After the work-in-progress performances and previews at Sala Gloria, INVIZIBILII takes to the stage at Sala Palatului (Palace Hall) in its supreme form, offering the audience an unforgettable and immersive artistic experience.

A Broadway Style Kind of Musical for Children & Parents

"My name is Laura. I didn't know how to read. And, honestly, I didn't think I ever would. But one day, when my friends disappeared between the pages of books, I realized I had to learn. Now. Not later."
Laura
Main character, Invizibilii

Inspired by Ioana Pârvulescu’s first book, and brought to a new and different life in a bold, original production, this is the first fully Romanian musical crafted with the scale and spectacle of West End and Broadway.

One day, in an apparently ordinary visit to the library, something extraordinary happens: Laura’s classmates enter the library and vanish — they become literally invisible. Where did they go? To rescue them, Laura must embark on an enchanted journey: she will traverse six worlds, pass six trials, and partner with a wizard, all in a quest to discover the “magic formula of reading.” This is what I would call the shortest intro for the musical I wanted to tell about today.

“Everything surprised me because it’s an embodiment! It’s a different language, complex, made up not only of words, but also of body movement, dance, facial expressions, voice and music, lights, and the splendid animation in the background. I was delighted.“

Ioana Pârvulescu

— Author & Professor

Follow Laura, a young girl who doesn’t know how to read — until an extraordinary discovery whisks her into a world where literary characters become real, stories leap off the page, and invisible friends hold the key to courage, connection, and self-discovery.

And if this promo isn’t enough to convince you, I’ll tell you one more thing that will make you even more curious. You will find the fun and happiness of many of your favorite childhood books in Invizibilii. You may think you have already outgrown these books, but you will see that they are still delightful and full of meanings.

When Scrollina takes the stage ...

👑 Scrollina, the queen of likes and virality, has her own song in INVIZIBILII.

When interviewed, Pârvulescu confessed that it is difficult “to leave your child characters in the hands of strangers,” as the production team was then, for the writer. She also said, “I’m not looking for fame. I have other reasons for writing.”  Pârvulescu overcame her fears, and this was thanks to the passion and experience of Ciobanu (Director) and Boncea (Producer). Pârvulescu trusted the director’s idea to add a new and very special character to the game. That’s how Scrollina, an influencer who “steals” children away from reading, showed up on the stage. The reason for this decision is obvious: it would reflect what the younger generation is currently doing—scrolling and tapping on digital screens. Additionally, Scrollina was to highlight the traditional conflict between good and evil on stage.
