The playful dance of snowflakes that cover Bucharest in a heavenly rhythm only they knew urged me to open the pages of a certain book that has been sitting in its rightful place on a certain shelf in my library for some time. It is not the first time I have opened it, but last night I felt it as a calling. I got up from the cozy couch, where my tomcat—no matter how much of a Genghis Khan he is, was purring quietly. I went straight to the shelf in question, took the book and opened it at random. My gaze stopped at a particular paragraph that begins “the words we speak”. I smiled because for some time I had been contemplating the idea of writing about this subject.
And then—while the great snowflakes danced and drifted, tapping softly at my windows just enough to stir my sleepy, green-eyed Han—I slipped beneath the warm blanket on the couch and let the story slowly unfold in my hands.
This time I don’t feel like commenting as much as I usually do. I’ll just leave you with the quote because I feel that there is at least one thing that will resonate with each one of you. Something in these spoken words will confirm something that maybe you’ve felt at times.
“The words we speak in the physical realm move mountains and bend destinies in the spirit realm. Here, you encourage someone; there, you give the tools to climb out of a pit. Here, you lay your hand on someone’s shoulder; there, you’re marking a life for blessing. Here, you say a simple prayer; there, the hosts of heaven receive their battle commands. Here, you sing a pretty song; there, you stand in the throne room of God, releasing glory to the King of all kings. Here, you drop a check in an offering bin; there, you set your crown at His feet. On Earth you pray for a sick person; in heaven you are a coheir with Christ, pouring the bounty of His kingdom onto His children.”
Blake K. Healy
Reminder to us all—Remember that the echoes of your spoken words are endless … and you never know who might be listening. Sometimes all it takes to make a huge difference in the world is not that complicated. It does not require much of your time. All it takes is a simple good thought filled with compassion, a heartfelt gentle touch given to the one in need, a whispered prayer addressed only for the ears of the Almighty.
P.S. This quote is one from Blake K. Healy’s book called The Veil: An Invitation to the Unseen Realm. Available on Amazon in paperback, Kindle and audio formats.
