Raul Kusak and Liviu Pop are back in Bucharest with Urban Unit project. This year, their first concert happens at Tete-a-Tete Herastrau, one of the coziest terraces in Bucharest, on August 28, 10pm. Urban Unit is a unique project that brings together the rhythms of electro-jazz, trance-funk and world music.
Urban Unit—amazing talent, spontaneity and impromtu, this is how I would describe in just three words Kusak and Pop's magic music they produce while playing together on the same stage. Urban Unit project Project goes beyond musical conformism by giving to the mix of electro-jazz, trance-funk and world music rhythms a magnetic and original tone.
To hear Kusak and Pop playing together it's an opportunity not to be missed by those who love really good music, so I warmly invite you to join them on August 18, at Tete-a-Tete Herastrau.
There a 20 lei entrance fee; it's a symbolic gesture covering the equipment and logistics costs. Totally worth it! To book a table for the this event, call at 0728 668 463. You can also join the event on Facebook.
Raul Kusak & Liviu Pop
Raul Kusak is of the best Romanian keyboards musicians. He's well know for his ability to play simultaneously several keyboards, a talent Kusak totally plays upon with Urban Unit. Along the years, Kusak played with great artists such as A.G. Weinberger—guitar player, and talented vocalist, one of the best promoters of American jazz in Romania, Chris Tofield Band, Corey Harris, Tom Smith, Paula Selling, Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica or bands such as Vama, Iris, Holograf, Platonic Band, Blue Family, Blues Cafe, Midnight Express or Blues Open Version.
When thinking about Liviu Pop, Debbie Davies, an award-winning singer, songwriter and guitar player of extraordinary talent—about whom Los Angeles Times wrote "she wields an electric guitar as if it were a wand," says he is "one of Connecticut’s best-kept secrets." Liviu Pop moved more than 25 years to United States. It's on
An exceptional percussionist, Pop has played with many well-known jazz musicians such as Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay, Lucky Peterson, Debbie Davies, Lil' Dave Thompson, Toni Lynn Washington, Chris Tofield, Chris McDermott, Petey Hop, Saskia Laroo, Bill Harris, Amy Bowles, Nick Bariluk, Warren Byrd, etc.
Chillout lounge, bohemian atmosphere or the perfect place to spend the afternoon or evening—this is how visitors describe Tete-a-Tete on TripAdvisor. To me it's the best place to take a break after my morning run in Herastrau, enjoy the best Pineapple & Ginger fizz, read a good book, write for my blog or simply hang-out with my friends.
For those who cannot leave home without their barking best friend, you should know Tete-a-Tete is dog-friendly location where they can also rest or get some water. Bikes are also welcome, especially if you want to have one or more cocktails.
