My Personal Perspective on Such Job Opportunity

I’ve been dealing with building “digital stuff” for over 20 years and the last 7 ones were all about consulting businesses on various topics. So, I am allowed to say that I experienced (almost) everything: selling the idea of a website, custom-built e-commerce solutions and first-time digital services; doing business analysis and writing specifications for UX and Software Development teams; integrating off-the-shelf solutions with legacy systems and apps; writing JDs that didn’t exist; implementing change management projects; creating new hiring processes and everything in between.

Here are few of the things/ lessons I would like to share with you, if you consider making a career change and joining an incubator software development or an intrapreneurial team:

Fear, uncertainty and discomfort are the amazing catalysts for personal and professional growth. This is precisely what happens when it comes to innovative concepts and ambitious tech projects.

Cultural alignment for such a team should be defined by collaboration, knowledge-sharing, communication, growth mindset, problem-solving approach, adaptability, curiosity, continuous improvement, mentoring. Without such qualities innovation and change projects cannot happen. 

People sitting next to you are incredibly important! They will challenge you, but they will also lift you up when you need them to. Passion, courage and resilience are defining qualities that should be shared by team members dreaming that “next new big thing”. Imagining the future of the product/service that has not yet been written or building something new from scratch with such like-minded people creates a bond that can hardly be broken. It creates memories you will treasure more than you can imagine.

Sense of humor is mandatory! A good laugh is what sometimes all you need to get you through tough moments and also the best indicator that you will recover, so you can move on to the next task.
